A note from Kent and Kyle:

For the last three and a half years we’ve waded through countless books, websites, guides, pamphlets, and even seminars. We’ve conducted surveys and spoken with countless smart, successful people. Hundreds of hours later we had sore brains and one heck of a lot of information. We have gathered the most interesting, essential bits, and put them in all one place … our first book, “Cool Stuff” they should teach in school.  Many people have referred to it as a mentor in a book.

We know that young people are not “Dummies” or “Idiots!” We’re just uninformed. Why buy books written for dummies or idiots when you can learn can learn “Cool Stuff” and cruise into the real world with styyyyyyle?

In sports, the difference in winning and losing can simply be your grasp of the games fundamentals. Regardless of whether we play sports or not, we’re all participants in the game we call “life.” We can have all the enthusiasm and all the passion in the world, but if we don’t get the basics down first, all that energy is wasted.

Without knowing the fundamentals of life you’ll probably get hurt and won’t be having fun. That’s why we say, “Why stumble into the real world when you can cruise in … with styyyle?”

1) Controlling your attitude - so you can get the most out of yourself and enjoy life to the fullest
2) People skills - to create long lasting friendships and relationships
3) Handling money - so money doesn't control you
4) Employment - how to get a job or start a business
5) Developing your purpose - goal setting and planning for the future so you can get what you want from life sooner

Below are just a few comments we have received from readers:

"I wish I had Cool Stuff They Should Teach in School when I was younger. It is a guaranteed blueprint for building a lifetime of fulfilling relationships, happiness and financial success-starting now!"
     - Jack Canfield. Co-author, Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul and Chicken Soup for the College Soul

"I am a senior at Santa Clara University and have done a lot of reading in my college career. I've read a lot of books, but it took picking up "Cool Stuff" to realize reading isn't always just homework - it can be enjoyable as well. I can honestly say that this is the first book that I have ever read that I didn't "have" to read and I enjoyed every word of it. It's definitely a must read for anyone interested in anything!"
     - Sam Infantino, Student age 21

"As a father of six children and grandfather of thirteen, I subscribe to the excellent and much needed work of Kent and Kyle Healy. Even though I developed my own investments firm, my critical calling was to train my children to be responsible, productive, and basically happy adult members of our society. Your call to self-empowerment for young people tracks perfectly with what I have learned over many years. Good Show!"
     - Jack Sullivan. Co-founder of Harris Bretall Sullivan & Smith Investment Firm, San Francisco, California

"The challenge of educators today is to provide the tools young people need outside of the classroom as well as within ... from how to relate well to peers, parents and teachers to the ever critical first job interview. Unfortunately, when push comes to shove, "real life" skills take a back seat to academics.  Kent and Kyle have compiled much needed words of wisdom for today's young adults!  This should be required reading for all young people!"
     - Michelle Bissonette. Teacher, Los Altos, California

"This book is marvelous! Kent and Kyle Healy are great blokes who don't just write great keys to "cruising into the real world ... with styyyyle" - they live them! It covers great practical topics and and is a must for any teen - or curious parent - who wants to learn how to thrive in THE REAL WORLD! 5 stars - it's a must!"
     - Sam Humbert, student age 14, Australia

They discovered early in life that basic principles about relationships, finances, goal setting, and much more were not taught in school. Any student or adult that reads this book will come away with a better plan for life."
     - Dr. Michael McMurray D.C., C.C.S.P. Chiropractor and lecturer

"We started selling "Cool Stuff" in our stores and immediately noticed the results with our personnel - then we purchased copies for the rest of our staff! The perfect gift to give employees a jump-start on life. Attitude, goal setting, people skills, money management ... information everyone needs. Knowledge is power and contributes to a great work environment."
    - John F. Merwald III, Cingular Wireless

"The information that I have learned from this book has in several ways, changed my life. That's another thing you guys have hit gold on: writing suggestions and ideas that can easily be applied to anyone's life ...  Not only did I seem to enjoy myself more than ever, but I could sense that people around me were drawn to my assuredness and optimistic attitude. Now I feel I am in more control of my life than ever before."
